Green Springs Park
This place stinks! I actually mean it stinks as in there is a rotten egg aroma permeating throughout the park that can make one blow chunks after a while. The sulfur on the springs is the culprit. The main attraction (the only attraction actually), is the little pond in the middle of the park. Apparently there is a lot of sulfur seeping onto the spring that turns it night glow green. It’s very interesting to look at for about 10 seconds then you start wondering why you made the trip. There is not much else to do here. If you want to bring kids they will get a kick out of the play area. I saw a black garden snake scurrying away from me into a trunk nearby. A few of my friends saw a baby gator swimming in the green smelly water but when I went back it wasn’t there. I hope he made it out ok.
According to the signs posted around the spring, people used to come here to bathe in order to heal their ailments a long time ago. Some people even drank the water. The owner of the springs even sold little bottles filled with the water as medicine. Needless to say, those people in the 1800's were crazy. The spring is suspected to be very deep and no one knows where it goes since there is no water running out of the hole.
For those who are interested in HDR photography this place can make for a few good shots because of the color of the water and the texture around the spring.
No food to be had and I do not think you would want to eat there anyways with that aroma.
