Gemini Springs Park
This place is pretty big. Lots of different things to take pictures of. There are 2 dog parks here. One for small dogs and one for the big boys. Signs posted everywhere about snakes so be careful.
There are two different springs that dump onto the pond and eventually onto the Saint John's River. It’s very inviting to jump on the water but do NOT do it. There are gators, water moccasins and it is really cold. <G>. Plus you don’t want to swim alone do you? LOL.
The place has lots of different pathways for you to explore. Some lead to nothing. You end up in the middle of nowhere and there is a bench there. Kind of weird. There is also a dock area where people can fish from. There is a little bridge where you can get a panoramic view of the spring’s area. Lots of places for you to have a picnic and some big enough for a wedding reception. People bring their kids to celebrate their birthday parties there. Lots of people jogging and walking their dogs and just strolling along. It’s very pleasant.
I have been there in the morning early and there are wild rabbits along the edges of the woods. Very skittish but very cute eating the grass. There are tons of squirrels that are not shy. They can intimidate you if you do not have peanuts for them. It’s kind of funny. They stand up in front of you as if they were shaking you down for a peanut. I plan to go back early with some peanuts to get a few shots. You can catch a few birds fishing along the water's edge.
